Located within Dengfeng in Zhengzhou City, Henan Province, the property includes 11 historical buildings across 8 sites. These sites include the Zhougong Sundial Platform and the Dengfeng Observatory, Songyue Temple Pagoda, Taishi Que Gates and Zhongyue Temple, Shaoshi Que Gates, Qimu Que Gates, Songyang Academy of Classical Learning, Huishan Temple, and the architectural complex of the Shaolin Temple(including Kernel Compound, Pagoda Forest, and Chuzu Temple). These structures date from the Han, Wei, Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties, representing the longest chronological span, the greatest variety of architectural styles, and the richest cultural significance among ancient architectural complexes in China.
