In July this year, at an international event held in South Africa, a Chinese athlete participated alone and unexpectedly won the championship, making the Five-Starred Red Flag rise in a foreign land. He is Tao Feng.

This competition is named as the IPF (International Powerlifting Federation) Asian, Oceanian and African Powerlifting Championships . At that time, Tao Feng represented China in such an event for the first time and won the championship in the open group of the equipped powerlifting competition, the championship in the bench press special event of the equipped powerlifting competition in the masters group, and the Best Athlete Award.

In contrast to the image of a "strongman", Tao Feng is a professor in the Department of Philosophy at Nankai University. He said that powerlifting is one of his many hobbies, and he participated in competitions just to promote this niche sport. He hopes to achieve greater accomplishments in the fields of art and philosophy in the future.

Tao Feng had poor health when he was a child and was a bit overweight. He broke his arms a total of three times. It wasn't until he was in high school that his friends took him to run and play basketball together, which inspired his love for sports and planted a seed of "winning glory for the country" in his heart.

At the age of 30, he went to Tsinghua University to study for a Doctor of Philosophy degree. He has been constantly learning and has obtained multiple degrees, including philosophy and a Master of Arts degree in Comparative Literature from Peking University, which he got while working. Now he is still learning relevant knowledge about computer science and artificial intelligence.
